Truffle Winery
YOUR HOLIDAYS IN THE MIDDLE OF TUSCANY

Pietro Beconcini Agricola The history of this winery begins in the early 1950s . Leonardo Beconcini's avocation began to take shape in the early 1990s, with the first vintage of a monovarietal Sangiovese in 1995. Leonardo's patience in undertaking the studies of the local environment was the real key to all of the work that he has done since. The most important results, in chronological order, are:
- an in-depth understanding of the vineyards here, which had previously been farmed rather primitively;
- the selection of two local sangiovese clones, still used today for wine production;
- the decision to increase plantings of the malvasia nera grape (which has always been sangiovese's faithful "travelling companion");
- and finally the discovery of the unexpected presence at San Miniato of the fabulous grape variety that we now know is tempranillo. Today, Pietro Beconcini Agricola is the first tuscan winery to produce wines from Tempranillo variety. |

Cupelli Spumanti Società Semplice Agricola Located at the foot of the hills of San Miniato, Cupelli Winery has always cultivated with passion grape varieties Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo, San Colombano and Trebbiano toscano. It all began in 1954 when Amelio Cupelli began to produce, according to ancient traditions, tuscan VinSanto and wines of great quality. Today the old company shines with its own light, the winery has been restored and the vineyards are treated with the same care of the past combined with the advanced technologies in the field of wine. The desire to grow and innovate has led the company to follow an ambitious project to produce sparkling wine with Trebbiano toscano grapes, in 2008. The knowledge of our land and cultivate the vineyards with the greatest care has made possible a new and different interpretation of the grapes in the Cupelli metodo classico sparkling wines. The idea that a great potential exists in the area and varieties has led the company Cupelli Spumanti among the top producers of sparkling wine traditional method in Tuscany. |
